Receptionist at Brewer Caldwell

Being a Receptionist Here at Brewer-Caldwell
There are many duties that need to be performed here at Brewer-Caldwell as the receptionist. All the doors must be unlocked as soon as you walk in, so everyone can get in. My day here begins with checking voicemails and forwarding them if necessary I begin to check emails and sorting the emails from the spam I forward those also if they need to be. I grab the keys for our lock box outside and check if anyone has left their rent check. Most times during the month it is empty. I help Victoria in accounting mostly when it is the 1st of the new month, with everyone coming in and paying their rent; I am either accepting their checks or helping them make debit or credit card payments. I come back inside and greet everyone walking through the door, if its early morning then I’m greeting each one of our tenants of the building.

Everyone in our office heads in, most a little tired. We’re all getting ready to start the day. Some days can be a little more hectic then most, Some times we have Technical issues which I try to get fixed 1st it might be the phones, or the internet might be down; it is the little things that make a BIG difference especially since that’s the way everyone in the building does their business, thank goodness that doesn’t happen too often! If we do have Technical issues I try to get them resolved 1st before I try Calling Calvin or Paul our IT dept. If there is a new person starting in our office or if we have new tenants in our suites, I am helping them get their phones set up, giving them their new phone & Fax numbers and Codes for our copy machine. I help out our Maintenance Supervisor Daily with Placing Work orders from tenants and Mailing out HOA violations and placing HOA work orders, if it’s a 2nd notice for a property I am also calling the HOA to let them know we’re going to take care of that specific violation. I help Teri with Anything she asks, it can be mailing our Lease renewals or Faxing, emailing or mailing lease agreements to Owners & Tenants. I also file our vacant property keys into files for our leasing agent to give to new tenants who have just signed a lease with us.

I am also a receptionist for every business in our building; so that keeps me on my toes!  I am either taking them to their office or calling them to let them know they have visitors. I schedule Meetings for our conference room and offer the guests something to drink. I also keep track our office supplies, making orders when we’re out of something and then UN packing and putting those things away. And Last but not least, Is answering the phone through out the day, I answer phones for a lawyer we have in the building as well as our main office, I filter through those calls and transfer the caller to the right person. So needless to say, I am pretty busy through out the day, makes my day fly right by!
